Savannah region: Gas shortage hits Damongo township.
Damongo, the Savannah regional capital has been hit by an acute shortage of Liquefied Petroleum Gas.
Information reaching this source indicates that residence in the capital and surrounding communities are unhappy with the situation which is about a month and describe the situation as worrying.
As of 26th June, checks from the only Gas station, Trinity Oil in the area shows that there is "No Gas".
Close source say the delay of Gas at the only Gas station is as a result of change of company (supplier), which might even delay longer into the middle of next month in getting Gas.
Residents in the municipality who depend on Gas for cooking and others said this is due to people of the area depending on just one Gas service station.
Residences are compelled to move to Tamale in order to get their cylinders filled with Gas, which they say is affecting their cost of living due to transportation cost looking at the current economic hardship in the country.
