 Damongo: farmers unhappy with tractor owners over the cost of ploughing Farmers in the West Gonja municipality municipal assembly of the Savannah region are unhappy over high cost of tractor ploughing. The farmers during a phone-in on PAD FM 95.1, lamented over what they call over pricing of ploughing.  The unhappy farmers on PADFM's Friday morning program "what's it", which is designed to allow listeners to phone with challenges affecting their everyday live, expressed dissatisfaction over the cost of GHC200 ploughing per an acre, which they say will affect the number of acres they intend to farm this year.  Last Friday, the over one hour program recorded over 80% contributions from the farming communities who said the price of ploughing per acre is unacceptable considering the cost of fertilizer, chemicals (well known as condem) and other farm inputs, indicating that this could lead to  food insecurity in the near future if not well checked.  Savannah region: Gas shortage hits Damongo township. Damongo, the Savannah regional capital has been hit by an acute shortage of Liquefied Petroleum Gas. Information reaching this  source indicates that residence in the capital and surrounding communities are unhappy with the situation which is about a month and describe the situation as worrying. As of 26th June, checks from the only Gas station, Trinity Oil in the area shows that there is "No Gas". Close source say the delay of Gas at the only Gas station is as a result of change of company (supplier), which might even delay longer into the middle of next month in getting Gas. Iddrisu Abdul-Rahman, the assemblyman for Yipala/Nabori electoral area in the West Gonja municipal assembly of the Savannah region has on Monday, 20th June, 2022, disclosed that he has absorbed all extra classes cost for all JHS final year students at Yipala until they write their B.E.C.E The Assemblyman is empowering Yipala Junior High school final year students by taking full cost of extra classes organized by the school towards their final examinations. Hon. Rahman called on the students of Yipala to take their studies serious in complementing his efforts by learning very hard. He urged them to study hard to attain  a 100% pass mark by performing more than their predecessors.  West Gonja assembly begins processes to demolish all structures on pavements and waterways. The West Gonja municipal assembly will on Monday, 20th June, 2022, embark on a campaign to demolish all structures on pavements and developments along waterways across the municipality to help avoid perennial flooding in the area. The exercise is to also pave for the capital city to obtain the necessary mark for the secondary cities program. In May 2022, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo directed Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to ensure that developments along waterways and obstructions to the free flow of water are removed. The President tasked the MMDAs to ensure developers adhere strictly to the planning laws of the country and sanction any staff who issue permits for structures to be built on waterways. Yelezuome has expressed gratitude to the Provincial Sisters - Franciscan Missionary Mission (FMM), the Provincial  Lucion Central Franciscana of Germany (development office of the FMM in Germany),   the chiefs and people of Tinga for helping to build a beautiful polyclinic for the area.
