 Rainstorm At Damongo Destroys Parts of Abu Juan House at Damongo Senior High School. Damongo Senior High School's Abu Juan House has been hard hit by rainstorm on Thursday, 31st March, 2022. The house which is named after the first official headmaster of the school, was partly destroyed by the rainstorm at Damongo, the Savannah regional capital, rendering 100's of students dormitory-less.  Damongo MP donates 10 Motorbikes to West Gonja Municipal Health Directorate The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and Member of Parliament (MP) for the Damongo constituency, Samuel Abu Jinapor, has donated ten (10) Apsonic Cross Country Motorbikes to the West Gonja Municipal Health Directorate. This is to help the facility enhance health care delivery in the area. The legislator in a short address explained that, there are some basic needs of humanity that every policy maker and pubic servant must pay attention to, such as:the needs of education, health care and general social amenities in the range of water, electricity and sanitation.  Yagbum Junior High School's Sakara Adam wins 2022 Royal Club Spelling Bee Competition-Damongo  Sakara Adam of the Yagbum Junior High School, Damongo, emerged winner of the 2022 Spelling Bee competition at the just ended Royals Club Independence Spelling Bee competition held at the Damongo Senior High School Assembly Hall on Friday, March 4, 2022. He beat 45 other contestants in an intense nine (9) rounds of spelling. The West Gonja Municipal Spelling Bee, a 9-year-old Royal club municipal spelling competition, has had a significant impact on Damango childrens' education and the West Gonja Municipality's junior high schools. The competition began with 46 total participants in the first round, with scores falling out in subsequent rounds until the 7th round, when two finalists spelled their way through, which was keenly won by Sakara Adam in the 9th round after the two finalists all spelled their words correctly in the eighth round.  Hon. Mugis Assembly man for Dass Eletoral Area Donates to 2 Schools in West Gonja Municipality. Hon. Mugis Mbigamsi, the Assembly man for Dass electoral area in the  West Gonja municipal assembly of the Savannah region has donated multiple school uniforms to two (2) basic primary schools in the municipality. 360 school uniforms were donated to Jakpa D/A Primary and Jafo Primary School, comprising 220 female uniforms, and 140 male uniforms.   At a brief ceremony to hand over the uniforms, the Hon. Mugis told Radio Peace and Development (PADFM) that the donation was made to help the pupils gain access to education.
