 West Gonja Municipal Assembly held LEAP Re-assessment Meeting with stakeholders The Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) management has  held its re-assessment engagement programe with Stakeholders  as part of reassessing beneficiaries of the programme on Wednesday, 16th September, 2022 in Damongo in the Savannah Region.  The program is seeking to identify and determine the poverty status and eligibility of households' beneficiaries on its activities (LEAP and non-LEAP) that aim at ; reducing the incidence of inclusion and exclusion errors due to the dynamic nature of poverty. It also considers the time factor and improvement of efficiencies and allocation of budget to the most vulnerable households. The  programme is also  designed for principle re-assessment every four years.  World Vision held EU - LEAN Savannah Landscape Project Media encounter in the Savannah Region  The Landscapes and Environmental Agility Across the Nation (LEAN) is a four-year project funded by the European Union that aims to conserve biodiversity, build climate resilience, and reduce emissions from land-use changes in the savannah, high forest, and transition zones of Ghana while helping local farmers to improve their livelihoods. Member of Parliament for the Damongo constituency, Adam Mutawakilu (Galus) has expressed his disappointment of some NDC constituency  aspirants who are going round campaigning, fabricating lies that such characters supported Galus with some motorbikes during the 2020 elections. Adam Mutawakilu said this on Damongo based community radio station PADFM 95.1mhz on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.   The former ranking member of mines and energy noted that the claims by such characters have gotten to a point that he can't remain quite and the manner in which the news is circulating in the constituency needs to be cleared once and for all.
