 Savannah Region Has Numerous Business Opportunities – Mr. Ashong – lartey Edward The Director of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Mr. Ashong-Lartey Edward, stated that the Savannah region has several economic potential, thus the need for sensitization. He said this at the first GIPC regional sensitization meeting in Damongo, the Savannah regional capital, On May 24th, 2022. The Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC) was established by an act of parliament, the Ghana Investment Promotion Center Act, 2013 (Act 865), as a government agency charged with encouraging and promoting investment in Ghana, with the goal of creating an attractive incentives framework as well as a responsive, predictable, and convenient environment. GIPC establishes clear standards and norms for businesses and individuals when dealing with customers, regulatory bodies, and government authorities.  The Savannah regional NPP chairman, Alhaji Iddrisu Suleiman, well known as Professor Kalamonia, has called on delegates of the region to vote to retain him as the chairman because there is still huge job to be done by the party in the area. Speaking to the media after the vetting and balloting, professor Kalamonia said NPP needs consistency in the Savannah region because there is still huge job ahead.  ..."this is not just a position to occupy but is a job to be done and I have done a good job. So the delegates from all the seven (7) constituencies should vote for me to make the NPP the biggest party in Savannah region". SIBCI holds two-day Interstate stakeholder engagement on transboundary collaboration. The European Union-funded Savannah Integrated Biodiversity Conservation Initiative (SIBCI) held a two-day Interstate major stakeholder engagement on transboundary collaborations on the establishment of ecological connectivity between Mole National Park in Ghana, and Nazinga Game Reserve in Burkina Faso as well as Mole National Park and Comoe National Park in Cote d’Ivoire. This meeting was held at the Mole National Park on Wednesday 18th May to Thursday 19th May, 2022. The program was facilitated by the Nature and Development Foundation (NDF) with support from the Ghana Wildlife Society and the Wildlife Division of the Forestry Commission.  NPP Youth Groups clash over filling of Nomination forms for Chairman Kalamonia Youth groups from more than three constituencies in the savannah region has clashed over the filling of nomination forms for the incumbent NPP savannah regional chairman, Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana ( Prof. Kalamonia ) .  Jaksally Development Organization Donates to Nakwabi Children's Home, Appeals for More Support The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba district, Madam Lonsina Barkisu Watara has called on traditional leaders, NGOs, CSOs, and other individuals to come to the aid of Nakwabi Children's Home, located at the Nakwabi community in the district. Mrs Losina Watara Barkisu said this will help keep the home running and caring for these innocent lives for a better future. Mrs Losina Barkisu stated this when Jaksally Development Organization's Director, Jeremiah Seidu visited the Home and made donations. The Nakwabi Children's Home is an organisation which has been catering for the homeless children and orphans for over a decade now and currently has about 22 children under its care.  NCCE marks 2022 annual constitution week; holds engagement with security agencies in Savannah region The Savannah Regional National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) secretariat has held engagement with the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Immigration Service to mark the Year 2022 Annual Constitution Week.  The engagement was held on the theme "Three Decades of Uninterrupted Constitutional Rule: Revisiting the Agenda for Reforms", at the forecourt of the Ghana police service on 11th May, 2022, Damongo.  Accra: GCRN tasks Youth Focal Producers Digital Trainees to report for training at exactly 8am at ILGS Ghana Community Radio Network's crossing-borders consortium, which started it's workshop with the theme "community radio facilitating the localization of the SDGs" on the May 9, 2022 at the Institute of Local Government Studies (ILGS) asked participants to report at the workshop venue at exactly 8am on Thursday, 12th May, 2022 instead of 8:30am According to Freda the lead facilitator,  the time review is necessary to meet up with work due to the limited days left for the training. GCRN is currently training 44 community radio staff who are youth across Ghana on digital training and capacity building to localize SDGs in their various communities by inculcating the SDGs in their reportage.  NGO asks farmer to replace 100 shea trees  destroyed in his farm or face prosecution A Larabanga based farmer in the West Gonja municipal assembly of the Savannah region has been ordered to plant 100 shea seedlings or be jailed for 100 years for poisoning and killing 89 shea trees at his farm, located opposite the Mole national park air strips, near Monogri community with poisonous chemicals. The Director of JackSally Development Organization, Jeremiah Seidu visited the farm on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, to ascertain first hand information and to know reasons why the farmer decided to destroy 89 shea trees. The Larabanga based farmer (Fuseini) who admitted to have undertaken the barbaric act, apologized to the Director of JackSally Development Organization, after a visit to the farmer at his shop.
