Aid for Socio-Economic and Rural Development (ASERD-Ghana) has held  stakeholders and community engagements in the West Gonja Municipality of the savannah region.  The events which was held from Monday 17th July to Friday, 21st July, 2023 was aimed at launching the project "Enhancing Mole Ecosystem and Biodiversity Conservation through Community-Based Resources Management and Apiculture Value-Chain Systems"(MOLE-ECO BVC PROJECT), with a funding support from the United Nations Development Programme _GEF _SGP in Ghana.  Step aside for me come 2024 if lack lobbying skills, Garlus to Jinapor.  Former MP and parliamentary candidate elect for the Damongo constituency, Hon. Adam Mutawakilu Garlus urged that the current MP for Damongo and Minister for Lands and Natural Resources steps aside for him come 2024 if he lacks the lobbying skills to be able to get development for the area.  According to him, the current Mp who is a cabinet minister and once worked at the office of the president has failed the constituents as he is not able to lobby for a common US$40 million to undertake the Damongo water project.  He also stated that he has a track record when it comes to infrastructural development and no politician in the Constituency can match with him, adding that, his footprints are everywhere in the constituency.  Minister for communications and digitalization tours Savannah Region to access ongoing girl's in ICT project.  Mrs Ursula Owusu Ekuful, the minister for communications and digitalization on Friday, 5th May, 2023 visited Damongo in the west Gonja municipality of the savannah region as part of her five days working visit  to the area to access and inspect the training processes of her ministry's ongoing girl's in ICT project in the Region.   The initiative by the communications ministry forms part of a global effort by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to bridge the gender gap in the technology industry.  In Ghana, "Girls in ICT" refers to the initiative that is aimed at encouraging and empowering young girls and women to pursue careers in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector.  The Ministry for Communications and Digitalisation, under the stewardship of Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Minister for Communications and Digitali...

1000 Girls Benefit from ICT Training in the Savannah Region

1000 Girls Benefit from ICT Training in the Savannah Region The Ministry of Communications and  Digitalisation (MoCD) today started training for 1000 girls from seven districts in the Savannah region.  They will be trained in basic computing, e-safety and coding.  The training is being organized in two batches from 25th April to 6th May, 2023 amidst district and regional competition to select the best 100 girls. Also Mentorship and Climax for the Savannah region will be held on the 8th and 9th of May, 2023. Awards for the Girls-In-ICT program are as follows: 1. All 1000 girls will be awarded with certificates of participation; 2. Best girl in each district gets ICT lab set up in the schools they attended; 3. Top 100 girls would be given laptops and  4.  Girls In ICT Initiative; Ministry of communications and digitalization to train 1,000 students and 100 teachers in the Savannah Region Ghana's Ministry of Communication and Digitalization has on Tuesday, 11th April, 2023 launched Girls in ICT Initiative in Damongo, Savannah regional capital at the Savannah Regional Coordinating Council. In Ghana, "Girls in ICT" refers to the initiative aimed at encouraging and empowering young girls and women to pursue careers in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector.  The initiative is part of a global effort by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to bridge the gender gap in the technology industry. Ghana is working towards increasing the number of women in ICT by offering mentorship, training and educational programs.  Green for Change Ghana holds stakeholder engagement workshop for smallholder Cashew farmers at Damongo.  Green for Change Ghana with funding support from USAID through the Feed the Future Ghana Trade and Investment Activity (GTI) has on Thursday, 6th April 2023 organized a stakeholder engagement workshop for key players in the cashew value chain within the West Gonja municipality under the “Building Capacity of Smallholder Cashew Farmers on Harvest and Post-Harvest including Nut Quality” project.  The stakeholder engagement workshop was aimed at creating awareness of the project as well as highlighting the main activities and interventions to be implemented within the project zones of influence.
